MATERIAL COORDINATOR

About the position

The primary purpose of this position is to provide support to supply chain and operations through the release of production orders, ensuring that material is available and approved prior to releasing the order. The role involves reviewing and confirming the information on the production order is correct before it is released to manufacturing. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for the scrap process and overseeing the disposition of blocked stock material. The position requires compiling data on order volume, production schedules, and forecasts, and applying methods to estimate future material requirements. The individual will also plan, schedule, and monitor the inbound movement of materials from suppliers, determine material requirements, and coordinate the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production, and engineering. Furthermore, the role includes developing specifications for new contract orders.

Responsibilities

• Release work orders in NetSuite, working with planning and manufacturing to ensure requirements are met.
• Inventory expiry reporting for batches and materials in inventory.
• Oversee the LOR- Left over residual reporting, scrap process.
• Lead meetings with operations, quality, warehouse, and finance to ensure blocked stock materials are dispositioned timely.
• Demonstrates leadership skills and the ability to influence others.
• Completes assignments in more than one functional area (process, project, etc.) supporting multiple customer requirements.
• Other functions as required to support existing operations and customer-focused projects.

Requirements

• HS diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 plus years of experience in supply chain/logistics required (FDA regulated industry preferred)
• Background in or working knowledge of manufacturing industry
• Knowledge of ERP systems required
• Strong organizational and communication skills, time management and proven computer skills required, including spreadsheet experience; MS office preferred
• High degree of motivation and sense of urgency required
• Ability to deal with fast-paced multiple demands, and very dynamic situations
• Work in an environment with tight deadlines and close supervision
• Communicates results to peers and supervisors effectively
• Ability to maintain integrated computer systems and related data accuracy
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
