About The Position

The Material Coordinator at Clorox is responsible for managing all aspects of packaging and raw materials for the Martinsburg facility, ensuring that materials are available for production. This role involves purchasing, tracking transportation and delivery, maintaining SAP data, and ensuring inventory accuracy. The coordinator will also serve as a liaison between the plant and vendors, addressing quality and delivery concerns, and may back up other coordinators in the litter network as needed.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and SAP functionality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer-service oriented with a focus on internal customers.
  • Detail-oriented with an understanding of financial implications of material transactions.
  • Ability to be flexible with business needs and work independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with materials received via railcars.
  • Ability to work from home during off-hours occasionally.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure availability of packaging and raw materials for production.
  • Serve as a liaison between the plant and vendors, addressing quality and delivery concerns.
  • Provide short-term forecasts to vendors and input for long-term forecasts after quarterly budget updates.
  • Execute Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure timely issuance of plant and MRP POs.
  • Update and review daily reports to check material shipments and expedite delivery as needed.
  • Identify and communicate issues involving assigned commodities during plant reviews and meetings.
  • Ensure quality of packaging and raw materials by working with the Quality group and issuing notifications for out-of-spec materials.
  • Support business and plant projects involving materials and maintain SAP master data.
  • Provide input on inventory targets and perform cycle counts on assigned materials.
  • Continuously seek and implement improvements in materials processes.
  • Back up the Plant Scheduler in their absence and assist with miscellaneous business support initiatives.
