About the position
The Materials Coordinator position at Southern Company involves direct management of Power Delivery inventory at the MDC warehouse in Forest Park, GA. The role focuses on inventory management, warehousing, logistics, and asset disposition, ensuring compliance with various regulations and company policies. The coordinator will collaborate with multiple departments to support supply chain management goals and maintain excellent relationships with key customers.
Responsibilities
- Manage Power Delivery inventory at the MDC warehouse.
- Develop and manage inventory management strategies.
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley legislation and other regulations.
- Coordinate movement of materials across the state.
- Assist with Warehouse Management System (WMS) order entry.
- Build and maintain relationships with Power Delivery and other customers.
- Manage hazardous materials to ensure safety and compliance.
- Perform physical inventories of materials in the storeroom.
- Handle customer requests for materials such as transformers and conduit.
Requirements
- Experience in storeroom operations and inventory control (MAXIMO).
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and forklift operations.
- Experience with power delivery processes and materials.
- Training or experience in accounting practices and project management.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and WMS.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

- College degree in a relevant field.
