About the position

The Material Data Management Analyst will serve as an SAP Power User within the Master Data Governance (MDG) application, focusing on data governance, ownership, and quality. This role involves collaborating with various teams across the organization to manage material master data effectively, troubleshoot issues, and enhance system capabilities. The position supports business processes by ensuring accurate data entry and identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an SAP Power User in the Master Data Governance (MDG) application.
  • Drive data governance, ownership, and quality by collaborating with Engineering, Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, and IT teams.
  • Execute structured approaches for the collection, creation, and maintenance of material master data.
  • Troubleshoot issues and communicate effectively with business and IT teams.
  • Manage data requests and validate change requests for accurate data entry in SAP MDG.
  • Serve as a business contact for material master topics and identify solutions to business challenges.
  • Partner with other SAP power users to resolve data gaps and issues with SAP functionality.
  • Assist with New Product Development, Sustainment activities, and Mergers & Acquisitions related to material setup.
  • Develop understanding of commercial business processes to assist in decision-making.
  • Test and deliver solutions for release cycles and new projects.
  • Maintain relationships with business and IT resources to improve data management processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent field, or 6 years of relevant experience in material management.
  • 2+ years of material data or system experience preferred.
  • Experience with SAP preferred.
  • Experience in an IT help desk or IT support role preferred.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems preferred.
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills preferred.
  • Experience with Excel functions, formulas, and filters preferred.
