About the position

BAE Systems is seeking a Material Engineer to join their innovative team focused on developing industry-leading Global Positioning Systems (GPS) products. This role involves hands-on experience in a Material and Component Evaluation lab, where the engineer will work on tasks related to materials used in electronic assemblies, failure analysis, and evaluation of new processes. The position requires consistent in-person collaboration at a BAE Systems facility, emphasizing teamwork and a passion for engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain dimensional measurements of parts
  • Conduct XRF analysis and FTIR analysis
  • Perform cross-sectioning and use Ion Chromatography equipment
  • Engage in failure analysis of electronic parts or assemblies
  • Evaluate new processes in material engineering

Requirements

  • Pursuing a STEM degree in Material Engineering, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering
  • US Citizenship
  • Sophomore or Junior year of college
  • Experience with lab equipment
