About the position

The Material Equipment Technician role at Verizon involves the installation and maintenance of telecommunications equipment in company buildings and remote locations. This hands-on position is crucial for ensuring that Verizon provides exceptional service to its customers by effectively managing and maintaining the necessary equipment.

Responsibilities

• Erecting, constructing, and removing facilities, cable, and equipment.
• Performing cable and wiring operations within buildings and on racks.
• Performing test functions.
• Analyzing and interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Working with both AC and DC electric power cables.
• Climbing ladders and working aloft.
• Perceiving differences in wire and cable colors.
• Moving/lifting items up to 60 lbs.
• Working evenings, weekends, holidays, and unscheduled shifts as determined by the needs of the business.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Possession of any technical license (FCC General-Radiotelephone, etc.).

Nice-to-haves

• A related Associate Degree or 2 or more years of relevant work experience.
