About The Position

The Material Estimator at Knight Wall Systems Inc. is responsible for creating project-specific estimates by analyzing plans and information from various stakeholders. This role emphasizes high-quality customer service and accurate, timely estimates to support the company's leadership in cladding support solutions.

Requirements

  • Degree in Architectural Technology, Construction Management, Engineering, or a similar field, or 2 years of experience in Construction Estimating, or a combination of experience and education.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Task-oriented with organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong desire to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Prior experience in the construction or manufacturing industry is preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with estimating software and configurators.
  • Familiarity with Epicor software and Bluebeam software.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with customers, project teams, and suppliers to understand project requirements and address any questions or concerns.
  • Review plans and specifications to accurately determine the needs for estimates, interpreting the intent of architects or designers.
  • Analyze blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications to ascertain the scope of work and material requirements.
  • Prepare detailed estimates using estimating software and configurators based on quantity take-offs or customer-provided quantities.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all estimates.
  • Manage multiple customers, projects, and quotes to meet demand and deadlines.
  • Track change orders and communicate updates to customers and sales representatives promptly.
  • Maintain a backlog of estimate requests using Epicor software, ensuring timely completion.
  • Prepare electronic quantity take-offs using Bluebeam software.
