About the position
The Material Handler position at Thermo Fisher Scientific involves working in the Materials Management department to receive, stage, and ship materials produced by the packaging department. This role is essential for ensuring that packaging demands are met efficiently and safely, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Receive materials into inventory and collect required components to process client batch records.
- Prepare shipments and provide carriers with required paperwork such as bill of ladings, packing lists, labeling, and MSDS sheets.
- Complete required GMP transactions to receive, transfer, or store goods and materials.
- Assist in warehouse department activities throughout the day.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1 year of work experience in distribution, warehouse, or supply chain or related field.
- Knowledge and ability to use computers and related technology efficiently for data entry and other job-related tasks using Microsoft applications.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with powered industrial trucks, fork trucks, or related equipment or certification.
