About the position

The Material Handler Associate at Corewell Health is responsible for managing the inventory of equipment, materials, linens, and supplies within the assigned area. This role involves tasks such as receiving, stocking, delivering, and ensuring that supplies are readily available to support the healthcare system's operations. The associate will utilize a computer-based inventory management system and collaborate with team members to provide exceptional care to customers.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incoming requisitions for inventory supplies and equipment in a timely manner.
• Maintain inventory levels of supplies, materials, equipment, and linens.
• Rotate stock and ensure a neat and orderly appearance of inventory locations.
• Use handheld computers to manage inventory and input information into the main computer system.
• Deliver products and equipment to requesting locations following safety guidelines.
• Remove soiled linen and products from nursing units to designated holding areas.
• Pack products for delivery according to proper packing techniques.
• Label and place delivery orders in assigned areas for shipping or delivery.
• Load, unload, and secure heavy cargo for delivery vehicles.
• Unpack and check deliveries against purchase orders.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of relevant experience in inventory management or a related field.

Nice-to-haves

• Successful completion of orientation and introductory period.
• Supply chain/material management experience.
• CRT-HI-LO Certification.
