About the position

The Material Handler - C position at Samuel involves filling orders from warehouse stock and ensuring the safe and timely movement of materials. This role is essential in maintaining the efficiency of the logistics and supply chain operations within the company, contributing to its long-standing success in the metals industry.

Responsibilities

• Operate material handling equipment.
• Operate packaging tools (machine and hand).
• Use RF devices for accurate material tracking.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Previous warehouse and forklift/side loader experience.
• High school education or GED desired.
• Good mathematical competencies.
• Attention to accuracy and detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Able to read a tape measure to the sixteenth.
• Experience with micrometers and calipers.
• Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Must have excellent attendance, be on time for work, and dependable.
• Commitment to continuous improvement, and health & safety.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience using computers.
• Experience with cutting and banding equipment is a plus.
• Previous experience operating material handling equipment including forklift.
• Able to operate a side loader/crane a plus - Must pass evaluation before working independently.
