About the position

The Material Handler position at Aerotek is an entry-level role focused on supporting the movement, storage, and packaging of inventory within a climate-controlled distribution center. The role involves various tasks such as pulling orders, preparing them for shipment, and maintaining inventory accuracy using RF scanners. The position requires physical stamina and flexibility, as it involves lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in different locations throughout the facility.

Responsibilities

• Pull orders and prepare them for shipment
• Use an RF scanner to pick orders
• Pack orders into boxes for shipping
• Load and unload different transport items
• Record inventory statuses
• Ensure deliveries properly match purchase orders
• Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock
• Record location of inventory
• Report shortages
• Pull orders from inventory
• Deliver production materials and supplies where needed
• Stage finished product for final distribution
• Handle and move merchandise around the premises
• Manage shipping and receiving of materials within the facility
• Use hand trucks, electric fork jacks, and forklifts to move materials

Requirements

• Previous warehouse experience preferred
• Ability to lift 50lbs+
• Flexibility during the company's start-up phase
• Comfortable standing in one spot for entire shift
• Willingness to work in various locations throughout the distribution center

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience with shipping and receiving
• Experience with order pulling and packing
• Accountability in warehouse inventory management
• Cycle counting experience
