About the position

The Material Handler/Dock Associate at Goodwill of Colorado is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a production and warehousing environment to manage donated products. This role involves sorting, moving, and storing materials while ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to safety and organizational guidelines. The position offers opportunities for daily pay and various employee benefits.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, compactors, and balers to move, store, and retrieve donated products.
• Sort recyclable materials into appropriate bins.
• Load, unload, and stage trucks and trailers efficiently.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness in the warehouse and production areas.
• Prepare items for shipment and track products received and shipped.
• Assist in providing a safe working environment for customers and employees.
• Cross-train in other departments as needed and act as a backup for other areas.
• Complete all duties in accordance with organizational policies to minimize downtime.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 year of warehouse experience, preferably in shipping and receiving.
• Experience operating forklifts and other heavy equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs unassisted and 75 lbs with assistance.
• Effective communication skills with customers and team members.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience as a Goodwill Outlet/Warehouse Associate or equivalent position.
• Ability to pass a forklift certification test including a drug screen.
