About the position

As a Material Handler in the Press Department at Challenge, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our customers receive the right products on time and at the correct location. Your primary responsibility will be to manage inventory levels accurately and maintain them to meet production demands. You will be operating industrial trucks, either liquefied gas or electric powered, equipped with lifting devices such as forklifts, ensuring safety and efficiency in your operations. This position is essential in supporting our mission to manufacture with operational excellence and to empower our employee-owners. You will be part of a team that values safety, ownership, and teamwork, contributing to the overall success of Challenge as a leading tier 1 supplier in the automotive industry. The role requires you to be physically capable of standing for long periods and performing essential functions, which may include lifting and moving materials. You will work on an A shift schedule from 6 AM to 6 PM, Monday through Thursday, at our plant located in Holland, MI. Responsibilities

  • Provide customers (internal and external) with proper product delivered on-time and to the proper location.
  • Ensure that inventory levels are accurate and maintained.
  • Operate liquefied gas or electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices (i.e. forklift) safely.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
  • One month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to work 10-12 hour shifts
  • Able to stand for 8-10 hours a day and be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
