About the position
The Material Handler is responsible for managing material movements within the Warehouse Department, including loading and unloading trucks, and transferring materials between production and storage locations. This role is essential for maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring efficient operations within the warehouse.
Responsibilities
- Unload trucks.
- Load trucks.
- Move materials to and from bin locations.
- Access computer to enter or view inventory movements.
- Perform physical counts of inventory.
- Rotation of stock as needed.
- Adhere to established procedures for identifying/marking materials.
- Take samples of raw materials for quality purposes as required.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Change forklift batteries as required.
- Exercise safe material handling techniques.
- Notify supervisor of any mechanical issues or failures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Some warehouse experience is a plus.
- Basic computer skills and math skills.
- Ability to read, write, and speak basic English language.
- Forklift certification.
