About the position
The Material Handler Specialist is responsible for picking and shipping finished products to customers while adhering to safety and quality procedures. This role involves receiving products, maintaining inventory accuracy, and performing physical tasks such as loading and unloading materials. The position requires standing for long periods and lifting objects up to 40 lbs, making it essential for candidates to be physically fit and capable of handling various warehouse tasks.
Responsibilities
- Pick and ship finished products to customers following safety and quality procedures.
- Receive and confirm counts and quantities of incoming products.
- Load and unload products using hand trucks or forklifts.
- Maintain inventory accuracy using RF handheld devices.
- Inspect goods for damage and verify quantities against invoices and purchase orders.
- Transfer products within the warehouse and ensure accurate documentation in JDE.
- Operate stretch wrapping equipment and perform daily safety checks on forklifts.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers across shifts.
- Clean and maintain work areas.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience in a distribution center or warehouse.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a distribution environment.
- Certified Forklift Operator with experience operating battery and propane forklifts.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
