About the position

The Material Handler position at Alamo Group (USA) Inc. involves working under general supervision to prioritize work orders and coordinate with supervisors to expedite the filling of requests for parts. The role includes receiving, storing, and managing inventory for manufacturing operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in material handling processes.

Responsibilities

  • Pick and pull customer sales orders, manufacturing work orders, and engineering work orders from various warehouse and plant locations.
  • Record the amount of material/components consumed on sales orders and/or work orders by accurately keying transactions into RF Smart via RF Gun or desktop computer.
  • Pack customer sales orders for small package or LTL shipment following all packing procedures.
  • Process shipments via small software or logistics software for LTL shipments.
  • Accurately label all sales orders and/or work orders.
  • Use RF Gun and/or desktop computer to access information or verify data.
  • Follow up on any inaccuracies or discrepancies and coordinate with proper personnel.
  • Notify production planners or supervisors of shortages in material required to complete any order.
  • Assist in packing and loading of whole good products.
  • Assist in the put-away process from the receiving area using RF Gun or desktop computer to ensure all material/components are delivered to the proper facility stocking location.
  • Use weight counting equipment to count higher quantities for distribution to manufacturing work orders or customer sales orders.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 3 to 6 months of experience in warehouse material handling required.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate Order Picker, Reach Truck, and Sit Down Forklift.
  • Basic math skills and computer data entry skills.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
