About the position

The Material Handler position at Adecco US, Inc. involves the delivery of company cargo to customers, ensuring the accuracy of paperwork, and maintaining safety while operating company vehicles. The role requires adherence to guidelines for equipment use and involves shipping, receiving, and organizing materials in a warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for company cargo delivery to customers.
• Ensures accuracy of all paperwork related to the job.
• Responsible for safety of crewmembers, fellow employees, and the public while operating company vehicles.
• Follow proper guidelines for use of all equipment needed for completing local moving and storage jobs.
• Ensures vehicle and equipment area are clean, safe, and kept in working order.
• Ships, receives packages, counts and routes material, completing associated documentation.
• Operates machinery such as forklift and pallet jack typically found in warehouse areas.
• Daily pick-up and deliveries in the Maryland areas.
• Pack equipment, following established packaging standards to protect equipment during transport.
• Daily shipping and receiving using FedEx and UPS systems.
• Operation of foam packaging machine.
• Shipping small packages to freight size packages.
• Organizing and electronic filing of shipping documentation.
• Managing packaging supplies and submitting orders.
• Partner with multiple service centers to track and expedite calibrations as needed.
• Monitor, reschedule, provide updates on open work-orders.
• Operate with a sense of urgency for customer or operational requests.
• Participate in weekly team calls and follow escalation paths to escalate issues.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person status required.
• Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
• A minimum of 1-2 years of material handling and/or customer service experience.
• Excellent computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Capable of heavy lifting (50+ lbs).
• Professional business casual attire required.
• Ability to work productively in a team environment and show care of equipment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrate excellent work ethic and multi-tasking skills.
• Exhibits meticulous attention to detail and committed to producing accurate and high-quality work.
• Able to work a flexible schedule with occasional overtime.
• Ability to consistently arrive timely to customer locations and office.

Nice-to-haves

• Customer Service Experience dealing with customer inquiries by phone.
• Prior experience in data entry.
• Experience using UPS, FedEx, management information system databases, or other CRM experience.
• Shipping and receiving experience, packing of equipment, coordinating/scheduling with FedEx and UPS World ship.
