About the position

The Material Handler position at Leidos involves supporting logistics operations at the Navy Array Technical Support Center (NATSC) in Newport, RI. The role focuses on the physical handling of incoming and outgoing materials, ensuring efficient warehouse operations and maintaining cleanliness in the work environment.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading of vehicles.
• Unpacking freight and placing received material in proper storage locations.
• Moving/relocating material using pallet jacks or carts.
• Scrapping/cutting of excess material.
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the warehouse and production floor.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience supporting warehousing activities.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs unassisted.
• Must have Interim Secret clearance to start on program and obtain final Secret to remain on program.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience reading/interpreting warehouse storage plans.
• Experience with the operation of standard office equipment (phones, computer, fax, copiers).
• Recent experience at NATSC Newport as a Material Handling Laborer or equivalent.
