About the position
The Material Handler position at Transco Railway Products, Inc. involves supporting operations by efficiently loading, unloading, and moving materials within the facility. The role is crucial for maintaining accurate inventory levels and ensuring that production goals are met through effective task prioritization.
Responsibilities
- Safely loads/unloads materials onto pallets, racks, and shelves by hand or using material handling equipment such as a forklift.
- Conduct quality assessments of materials during loading/unloading operations.
- Read and interpret work orders to determine which materials to pull and deliver.
- Prioritize work to meet production demands.
- Keep materials area and other work areas clean and orderly and report potential hazards.
- Participate in counting materials for cycle counts and inventories.
- Communicate and maintain inventory levels.
Requirements
- Able to pass drug screen, physical, and forklift test.
