About the position

The Material Handler position at Golden Artist Colors Inc. involves managing the receipt, delivery, and inventory of materials within the operations department. This role is crucial for ensuring that materials are accurately tracked and delivered to the appropriate locations, supporting the production of high-quality art materials. The position requires operating various types of forklifts and maintaining a high level of attention to detail to ensure safety and accuracy in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive and deliver incoming materials to appropriate locations.
• Pick and deliver WIP and component materials to filling area and stock WIP from Paint Making.
• Accurately count inventory, perform inventory tracking, and utilize computer skills to enter information about materials and products transactions in the ERP system.
• Prepare and inspect outbound carts of products being transferred to GAC Distribution Center and ensure manifests are complete and accurate.
• Prepare and inspect all outbound shipments to customers.
• Operate multiple types of forklifts including counterbalance, sit down, stand up, cherry-pickers, and clamp and reach forklifts.
• Occasional use of the box truck.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent with additional training in computer applications.
• 1-3 years working in a manufacturing environment.
• Forklift, electric pallet jack, and order picker certification.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Attend and pass driver safety course.
• Ability to safely operate company delivery trucks.
• Ability to work independently, multi-task and manage priorities.
• Attention to detail - accuracy is very important.
• Ability to recognize and avoid slip/trip hazards.
• Requires a physical assessment, respirator fit and background check.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
• Knowledge of inventory management systems.
