About the position

The Material Handler at Xylem plays a crucial role in managing the flow of materials from receipt to stock, ensuring inventory accuracy and supporting manufacturing operations. This position is integral to maintaining efficient processes and contributing to the company's mission of solving global water challenges through innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Manage the flow of material from receiving to stock as finished goods.
• Maintain inventory accuracy within the computer system.
• Transport purchased material to proper stock locations.
• Transport finished goods inventory to the stock area.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.
• Follow ISO standards in all operations.
• Provide backup support for assigned areas and team members.
• Monitor and order non-inventory materials from vendors.
• Participate in receiving activities including verification and counting.
• Run daily and weekly reports to review and resolve material variances.
• Transact operations and close shop orders in a timely manner.
• Review engineering changes for inventory impact.
• Distribute new and revised processes to work centers.
• Coordinate material in manufacturing and notify scheduling/planning of shortages, scrap, and discrepancies.

Requirements

• Material Handler Training as provided by YSI.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is desired.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to use computers and software for various functions including keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheets, and email.
• Organizational skills with the ability to work with minimal guidance.
• Willingness to provide support for other areas as necessary.
• Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment with customer delivery pressure.
• Attention to detail.
