About the position

The Senior Material Management Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring efficient production flow, inventory control, and scheduling within a plastic injection molding facility. This position is essential for maintaining the operational integrity of manufacturing processes and involves managing material logistics, inventory accuracy, and production support.

Responsibilities

  • Manage material flow to and from the production floor
  • Operate and maintain the Motan material handling system
  • Coordinate with purchasing for raw material procurement
  • Perform inventory control and cycle counts
  • Execute shipping and receiving duties as needed
  • Ensure proper material drying and setup for uninterrupted production
  • Maintain lot traceability and documentation accuracy
  • Conduct BOM audits for new production jobs
  • Implement and maintain 5S workstations on the production floor
  • Place authorized purchase orders for production supplies

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in materials planning, scheduling, and logistics
  • Strong background in inventory control and cycle counting
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of plastic injection molding processes
  • Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification
