About the position

The Material Manager at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is responsible for overseeing inventory management and production control operations related to material functions. This role involves coordinating efforts to support both internal and external customers, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and managing subordinate personnel to meet operational requirements. The position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the company's efforts to support internal and external customers through inventory control, shipping, receiving, purchasing, planning, quality, and off-site functions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations regarding parts handling, export licensing, and customs procedures.
  • Control internal and external costs for all materials shipped to and from the company.
  • Plan inventory and purchased part needs for timely disbursement to aircraft.
  • Provide guidance and training to subordinate personnel to meet position requirements.
  • Direct and guide operations and scheduling for receiving and shipping processes.
  • Maintain daily contact with department management for project planning and problem solving.
  • Ensure compliance with quality improvement processes within the department.
  • Track, analyze, and report production schedule positions to the master schedule.
  • Utilize Lean principles for continuous evaluation and improvement of processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 8 years of experience in material operations.
  • 5 years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Knowledge of governmental regulations and interpretations related to material handling.
  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP planning systems.
  • Understanding of basic supply chain management principles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified DOT HAZMAT awareness 181 preferred.
  • Practitioner of Lean tools preferred.
