About the position

The Material Mixer position at TekniPlex is responsible for ensuring that extrusion lines are supplied with the correct materials for production processes. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The position involves various tasks including operating machinery, producing accurate mixes, and maintaining compliance with quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Keep extrusion lines supplied with the correct materials for each process.
• Work in a fast-paced environment and follow all Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO) rules and regulations.
• Check work orders and specification sheets for specific work instructions.
• Produce accurate mixes for each extrusion line.
• Complete all paperwork as required by ISO, GMP, and HACCP standards.
• Operate the railcar unloading system.
• Produce labels for material bins, gaylords, and cartons, ensuring accuracy of labels and contents.
• Assign lot numbers according to ISO procedures.
• Operate all color feeders and ensure all materials are covered and protected.
• Prepare daily mix logs accurately.
• Operate powered industrial vehicles such as forklifts and electric pallet jacks.
• Operate material grinding systems.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, and division. Compute rates, ratios, and percentages.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent GED certification.
• Self-motivated with good organizational skills.
• Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, work orders, and operating instructions.
• Ability to print simple sentences and legibly complete reports.
• Ability to follow and understand verbal instructions.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
