The Material Planner at Clorox is responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient supply of materials required for production at the Reno, NV facility. This role involves collaboration with various departments to align material requirements with production schedules, manage inventory levels, and optimize supply chain processes. The position is safety-sensitive, requiring attention to detail to prevent potential safety hazards.

  • Collaborate with BU Network Schedulers to align material requirements with production schedules.
  • Identify and source materials required for production.
  • Issue purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials to meet production schedules.
  • Implement inventory control measures to optimize stock levels and minimize carrying costs.
  • Develop and maintain inventory management systems and procedures.
  • Provide input on material availability and lead times for production planning purposes.
  • Anticipate demand fluctuations and adjust inventory levels accordingly.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain and material planning processes.
  • 2 to 3 years of previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience working closely with production, procurement, and logistics teams to align material requirements with production schedules.
  • Experience in material planning, inventory management, or a similar role.
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience will also be considered.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to identify potential supply chain issues and implement effective solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms for material planning.
  • Ability to anticipate and adapt to changing production demands.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a safety-sensitive position.
  • Ability to work occasional overtime to meet production demands.
