About the position

The Material Planner at Divergent plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless execution of customer programs and new production introductions. This position involves collaborating with various teams to forecast customer demand, manage production priorities, and facilitate communication among stakeholders. The Material Planner will be responsible for optimizing resources and addressing operational gaps to achieve high on-time delivery rates.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure demand is properly planned to achieve on-time production throughout the engineering and manufacturing process
  • Develop and maintain demand forecasts based on historical sales data, market trends, and customer orders
  • Participate in S&OP meetings to ensure alignment between sales, marketing, and production teams regarding future demand and supply capabilities
  • Track demand changes and adjust forecasts accordingly, while identifying trends that might require adjustments to production and material planning
  • Manage work order and purchase order prioritization based on customer demands and production progress
  • Collaborate with project managers and technical teams to develop project plans, timelines, and deliverables
  • Communicate project objectives, timelines, and progress to internal stakeholders
  • Monitor project milestones and deadlines, ensuring projects are on track and within scope
  • Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of required resources
  • Facilitate communication between internal teams, external partners, and clients to ensure alignment on project goals and expectations
  • Address queries and concerns from stakeholders, providing timely and accurate information
  • Identify business needs and systematic gaps; able to use analytical frameworks to rapidly answer tough questions impacting internal and external customers
  • Assist in developing leading and trailing metrics and corresponding dashboards for the Program Management and Planning organization
  • Assist with resolution of incorrect system data, which is driving inappropriate demand, schedules, or could result in general failure
  • Other duties as required to achieve 95% on-time delivery.

Requirements

  • Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls
  • Bachelor's degree or 4+ years proven track record in planning, operations, manufacturing, supply chain management, or consulting
  • Experience using SQL and advanced functionality of MS Excel
  • Solid interpersonal skills, motivated self-starter who can manage personal workload and execution to tight schedule
  • Experience interfacing with engineering and manufacturing groups to understand system designs and the associated constraints

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency with SQL (advanced joins, temp tables, and query optimizations), PowerBI, Splunk
  • Experience using Python, Java, Ruby, or other similar programming languages
  • Able to create/maintain dashboards using data visualization tools (e.g. Splunk, Power BI, or similar)
  • Demonstrated experience in a start-up, consulting, or similar high-growth, fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences for stakeholders internal and external to the organization
  • Experience working with highly dynamic operations teams and MES tools (work order / purchase order / outsourcing ticketing, asset capacity analysis, inventory management, shop floor management) used in a smart factory
  • Collaborated successfully in a team environment to ensure cross-functional requirements are met
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and organization skills
