About The Position

The Material Planning Coordinator IV will play a crucial role in managing and executing MRP production schedules and material requirements in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Material Value Stream Manager, this position is responsible for ensuring a controlled flow of materials to meet production needs while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of MRP requirements. The coordinator will collaborate with various stakeholders to support production planning, problem resolution, and process improvement, ultimately contributing to the success of BAE Systems' operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and 3 years of experience or equivalent work experience.
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in Operations or Supply Chain.
  • Ability to professionally and effectively communicate with stakeholders and customers at all levels.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word and Excel, Outlook) and basic proficiency with Power Point.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business-related discipline.
  • Experience in Defense, Aerospace and/or manufacturing work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary interface between Production Management, first line supervision, Material Control Specialists (MCS), and Production Support personnel to ensure on-time delivery of materials.
  • Perform line audits to identify material availability risks, including reorder malfunctions and material obsolescence.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels on the shop floor in accordance with MRP for assigned production lines.
  • Collaborate with production engineering, quality, technicians, and operations supervision to ensure an adequate supply of material is available to support the production schedule.
  • Accurately status work order progress and material consumption using the MRP system and post goods to stock or transact product to the next manufacturing process.
  • Prepare and process documents such as release requests, shipping documents, material requests, and move tags for the department.
  • Review and communicate potential material cost and production impact of engineering change orders (ECOs).
  • Ensure accurate shop floor supply by establishing, monitoring, and validating MRP system inputs to prevent stockouts.
  • Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between departments according to manufacturing schedules.
  • Engage with Supply Chain to establish and maintain vendor managed inventory (VMI) and manage material flow to the production floor.
