About the position

The Material & Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in the procurement and scheduling of raw materials within the manufacturing environment. This position requires a solid understanding of manufacturing processes and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team. The coordinator will be responsible for providing accurate inventory counts and ensuring that all levels of the organization are informed about inventory status. This role is essential for maintaining the flow of materials necessary for production and will involve proactive communication with both Engineering and Manufacturing teams to ensure that inventory levels are consistently accurate. In this position, the coordinator will set and monitor inventory levels using the Epicor system, generating requests as needed to maintain acceptable inventory levels. The role also involves active participation in the creation of part numbers for both purchased and manufactured parts, ensuring that all materials are properly accounted for. The coordinator will enter orders, create jobs, and assign operations for various project processes, which is vital for the smooth operation of manufacturing activities. Additionally, the Material & Project Coordinator will be responsible for purchasing raw materials based on pricing and lead times, issuing purchase orders in Epicor, and managing the delivery and release of products according to job requirements. Tracking open vendor purchase orders and maintaining communication with vendors will also be part of the role. The coordinator will create stock jobs for inventoried items, lead cycle counts, and oversee bar-coding or other inventory activities to ensure compliance with established company standards and codes. Other duties may be assigned by leadership or management as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Purchase raw materials and manage scheduling with a working knowledge of manufacturing.
  • Proactively work with Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure inventory levels are accurate.
  • Set and monitor inventory levels in Epicor, generating requests when needed to ensure inventory is at acceptable levels.
  • Actively participate in creating part numbers for purchased and manufactured parts.
  • Enter orders, create jobs, and assign operations for project processes.
  • Purchase raw materials based on pricing and lead times.
  • Issue purchase orders in Epicor.
  • Manage materials and coordinate delivery and release of product based on job requirements.
  • Track open vendor purchase orders, contacting vendors when needed.
  • Create stock jobs for inventoried items.
  • Lead cycle counts and bar-coding or other inventory activities.
  • Maintain products and processes to established company standards and codes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership or management groups.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and inventory management.
  • Experience with Epicor or similar inventory management systems.
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with Engineering and Manufacturing teams.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide accurate inventory counts.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in electronics manufacturing or a related field.
  • Familiarity with part number creation and job assignment processes.
