About the position

Masonite, now part of Owens Corning, is seeking a Puller to join our production team. The Puller will be responsible for setting up and maintaining the production line for the safe labeling and pulling of door materials. This role involves performing general manual labor tasks, including wrapping, lifting, and moving materials, while assisting various functions with manual labor tasks as needed. The Puller will rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions and will work under immediate supervision. This position is crucial in ensuring that the production line operates smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of our manufacturing process. The Puller will adapt to a fast-paced environment, paying close attention to detail while assisting in any phase of the Production Shop operation. Key responsibilities include pulling needed materials as directed, pulling doors onto pallets, double-checking pallets to ensure the correct doors have been pulled before staging, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment. Housekeeping duties, including all forms of warehouse cleanup, are also part of the role. The Puller will measure and count products and materials and perform other miscellaneous jobs as directed by supervisors. This position requires a strong commitment to safety and quality, as well as the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. The Puller will be expected to produce quality work, operate manual pallet jacks and other materials handling equipment, and maintain detailed records. Regular attendance and timeliness are essential to avoid disruptions in production and customer service. The Puller will follow all operational and safety standard operating procedures (SOPs) as written, ensuring compliance with company policies and practices.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain the production line for safe labeling and pulling of door materials.
• Perform general manual labor tasks including wrapping, lifting, and moving materials.
• Assist in any phase of Production Shop operation as needed.
• Pull needed materials as directed and pull doors onto pallets.
• Double check pallets to ensure the right doors have been pulled before staging.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, including housekeeping duties.
• Measure and count products and materials accurately.
• Perform other miscellaneous jobs as directed by supervisors.

Requirements

• Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
• Ability to produce quality work and operate manual pallet jack and other materials handling equipment.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment.
• Previous warehouse or manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Ability to stand and work for 8-10 hours per day.
• Willingness to work overtime when needed.
• Ability to organize and maintain detailed records.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively.
• Proficiency in reading a tape measure to 1/32" inch.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English with proficiency.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Regular attendance and timeliness are essential functions of the job.

Nice-to-haves

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Basic computer skills are a plus.
• 1-2 years of experience in the field or related area.
