About the position

The Material Purchasing Manager at Fluor Corporation is responsible for overseeing material management activities for medium to large Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, and Construction (EPFC) projects. This role involves directing material identification, purchasing, logistics, and field material management, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and project requirements. The position also includes providing supervision, conducting audits, and preparing training sessions related to material management.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate plans and execute overall material management activities.
  • Direct the development of material management activities including material identification and Request for Quotations.
  • Oversee equipment and material delivery, installation, and project close-out.
  • Provide supervision to material planning, purchasing, expediting, logistics, and field material management.
  • Ensure effective integration of Supplier Quality Surveillance into the Material Management work process.
  • Maintain knowledge of business unit activity and inform strategic business unit president's direct reports on material management matters.
  • Prepare and present Material Management-related training sessions.
  • Conduct formal reviews and audits of project Material Management execution.
  • Prepare and issue relevant Material Management reports.
  • Manage and monitor the Material Management Work Process to meet project requirements and schedule.

Requirements

  • Accredited four-year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study.
  • Fourteen years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to eighteen years if non-degreed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a time-effective manner.
