About the position

The Materials Acquisition/Subcontracting Manager at Airdyne Aerospace is responsible for managing and coordinating material management and procurement activities to ensure compliance with output and quality standards. This role involves leadership in production planning, vendor selection, and resource management, critical for the timely delivery of products.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, plan, and control inventory levels, schedules, and allocations of materials.
  • Maintain inventory levels, master schedules, and resources to determine demand.
  • Manage vendor/subcontractor commitments and performance with technical support from respective departments.
  • Develop and lead a team of procurement/subcontracting specialists, including storeroom management and shipping.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of processes and provide status reports to appropriate departments.
  • Identify potential and actual disruptions to production or supply and develop resolution plans.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements.
  • Provide expert management of the ERP system.
  • Ensure timely, cost-effective purchases supporting the master production schedule.
  • Monitor on-time performance with suppliers and develop programs for cost improvement and quality enhancement.
  • Manage purchase orders and analyze changes or new issues in materials and supply to reduce costs and improve quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Material Management, Supply Chain, and Contracting/Subcontracting.
  • 5-7 years of work experience in relevant fields.
  • Strong analytical skills applicable to supply chain measurement and business process improvement.
  • High proficiency in Excel and Word.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP and Inventory Control practices.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Strong business process improvement and change management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Understanding of financial impacts of supply chain management and business decisions.
  • Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Experience in the aerospace and government industry is preferred.
