About the position

ST Engineering MRAS is a world-leading manufacturer of complex aerostructures, including nacelle systems and specialized structural components of the airframe. The Materials and Process (M&P) Engineer will serve as the focal point for documentation review, coordination, and management within the Materials and Processing Engineering team. This role involves collaboration with various internal functional groups, including the Engineering team, Sourcing/Procurement team, and Quality Organization, to support engineering reviews and documentation changes. The M&P Engineer will be responsible for managing material and process documentation, including specifications and technical publications, and will support engineering change documentation reviews for engineering drawing packages under the guidance of experienced engineers. The engineer will work on-site at Middle River, utilizing MRAS' internal document management systems to ensure effective documentation management. This position requires a strong foundation in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The M&P Engineer must demonstrate the ability to work with limited supervision while effectively collaborating with others, integrating their activities within the engineering organization. The role also necessitates the ability to manage multiple projects within time constraints and to communicate project obstacles to engineering technical leads in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the M&P focal for managing engineering specification documentation and internal technical documents/bulletins.
  • Coordinate and lead engineering specification change board meetings under the direction of senior technical engineering leads.
  • Standardize and update documentation templates for specifications, internal technical documents, and other related forms.
  • Create engineering change documentation and substantiation, including tracking assigned engineering changes through completion.
  • Collaborate with engineers and others within the business to achieve project objectives.
  • Execute plans to achieve defined project and departmental goals.
  • Provide effective, timely, and accurate communication to internal customers, supply chain, and external customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering or equivalent field from an accredited university.
  • Technical background in composites and/or other materials-based industry.
  • Working knowledge of engineering control, including configuration management, revision control, and end affect incorporation of engineering changes.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • MS Office proficiency - near expert level.
  • Solid organizational skills and attention to detail with some direct supervision.
  • US Citizen or permanent green card holder.
