About the position

The Materials Coordinator Lead in Supply Chain is a pivotal role within our warehouse operations, providing essential support and leadership to ensure the efficient management of materials and resources. This position operates with a significant degree of autonomy, contributing to the planning and budgeting processes of the warehouse. The individual will be responsible for directing all activities related to warehouse operations, which includes layout planning, document management, and report preparation. The role also involves providing guidance and direction to warehouse employees, ensuring that all operations are conducted safely and efficiently. In addition to overseeing daily operations, the Materials Coordinator Lead will operate a forklift to move chemical totes and load and unload trucks, ensuring compliance with safety protocols. The position requires the ability to perform chemical transfers using hoses from totes to Dana ISOs, often in challenging outdoor weather conditions. A key aspect of this role is the responsibility for training warehouse team members, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively. The Materials Coordinator Lead will also interface with customers and vendors, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships. This role is critical in maintaining the flow of materials and ensuring that warehouse operations align with the overall goals of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Direct all activities and related functions of the warehouse operation.
  • Assist warehouse operations leadership with layout planning and establishment of document files.
  • Prepare required documents and reports for warehouse operations.
  • Provide direction to warehouse employees and oversee their training.
  • Operate a forklift safely to move chemical totes and load/unload trucks.
  • Perform chemical transfers from totes to Dana ISOs in various weather conditions.
  • Interface with customers and vendors to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; two-year degree preferred.
  • Five years of related experience in a warehouse or operations environment, or a two-year degree plus 3 years of related experience required.
  • Experience in an operations environment, including knowledge and use of handheld scanners.
  • Experience in operating material handling equipment is essential.
  • Strong computer skills and analytical ability are required.
  • Forklift experience and certification preferred.
  • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions.
