About the position

The Materials Coordinator at Seadrill plays a crucial role in the administration and execution of spare parts and materials ordering for projects across multiple regions. This position is integral to ensuring that the necessary materials are available for various projects, thereby supporting the operational efficiency of the company. The Materials Coordinator will be responsible for creating work orders and purchase requisitions, ensuring timely and quality responses to support requests from internal customers, and promoting enhancements to existing inventory management and material handling practices. In addition to these responsibilities, the Materials Coordinator will support the supervisor, Procurement, and Ops Prep teams in identifying and optimizing Inter-Rig Transfer (IRT) opportunities. This involves reviewing system open transactions such as Purchase Orders (PO), Purchase Requisitions (PR), Transfer Orders (TO), and Inventory Usage, and taking necessary actions to update these records as required. The role may also involve the occasional expediting of open purchase orders and closing transactions in the rig inventory system. The position requires proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and ERP systems, along with a solid understanding of the Supply Chain, Inventory, and Procurement processes. A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field, along with 3-5 years of continuous experience in roles such as Operations Management Assistant (OMA), Supply Chain, Inventory, or Procurement, is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as interpersonal and leadership abilities, to effectively communicate and collaborate with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Creation of work orders and purchase requisitions for projects
  • Timeliness and quality of response to support requests from the business (internal customers)
  • Promotion of enhancements to existing inventory management and material handling practices
  • Support supervisor, Procurement, and Ops Prep in the identification and optimization of Inter-Rig Transfer (IRT) opportunities
  • Review system open transactions (PO/ PR/ TO/ Inventory Usage) and action/update as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Supply Chain Management
  • 3-5 years continuous experience as an OMA, Supply Chain, Inventory and/or Procurement
