About the position

The Materials Coordinator at Pilkington North America Inc. is responsible for leading and coordinating the operations of the assigned shift, focusing on team member safety, quality, productivity, and inventory management. This role involves training and mentoring employees, ensuring timely shipping, and implementing improvement plans to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and coordination of assigned shift operations.
• Ensure team member safety and quality standards are met.
• Conduct pre-shift safety walks to address current conditions.
• Coordinate shipping dock operations and manage order/load flow.
• Understand and prioritize customer needs as assigned by the Materials Specialist or Team Leader.
• Communicate shipment confirmations and handle operational failures.
• Adhere to NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its Values and Principles.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years recent supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience working with SAP and computer-based inventory control systems.
• Ability to resolve employee-related issues, including mentoring and training.
• Excellent customer relations and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull objects weighing from 1 to 70 lbs.
