About the position
The Materials Handler position at Hubbell Incorporated involves providing and arranging component parts for assembly and press personnel to ensure smooth operations at workstations. The role requires moving and transferring materials in an orderly manner while adhering to safety regulations and ISO requirements.
Responsibilities
- Load, unload, and move material within or near the plant yard or work site.
- Read shop orders, inventory tracking tickets, and/or receive oral instructions from a supervisor to move materials, parts, boxes, drums, etc.
- Construct or set up packaging containers.
- Load and unload materials from tables, machines, etc.
- Follow all pertinent safety regulations for self and others.
- Properly utilize all safety equipment.
- Dispose of scrap in the containers provided and/or move scrap to its proper destination.
- Operate a fork lift as required.
- Maintain a clean work environment actively.
- Train any new employee assigned to the area as needed.
- Perform other duties as directed by supervisors.
Requirements
- Ability to perform each duty satisfactorily and meet the physical demands of the job.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and proper equipment usage.
