Materials Management Technician - FT

About the position

The position involves managing the inventory and distribution of supplies within the hospital. Responsibilities include counting, restocking, and organizing supplies to ensure efficient operations and compliance with safety standards. The role requires attention to detail in maintaining records and ensuring that supplies are stored properly to prevent deterioration.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for correct counting and restocking designated supplies in the hospital
• Fills requisitions to restock various supply areas and departments of the hospital
• Organizes the storage and distribution of supplies received in accordance with procedures
• Routine stock supplies are placed in designated areas
• Nonstock supplies and equipment are delivered to their proper locations, including off-campus locations
• Organize and rotate the storage of supplies for efficient handling and prevention of deterioration
• Checks for expiration date each month and documents in the log book to maintain current dating
• Prepares items to be shipped out via common carrier
• Completes proper shipping records for all items being shipped out of the hospital
• Maintains a record of the transaction in the MM office for 1 year
• Assists with establishing appropriate stock levels/reorder points based on usage of supplies
• Communicates recommendations to the MM Director
• Assists departments with locating stored records
• Ensures that all stored records are labeled with a destroy date
• Fills in as the Receiving Clerk as needed
• Maintains all storage areas in a sanitary and organized manner
• Reports any hazardous or unsafe conditions to the MM Director
• Works in a safe and efficient manner when on the job
