About The Position

The Materials Manager at Oklahoma Children's Hospital is responsible for overseeing the Supply Chain operations at the entity level. This role involves implementing and optimizing supply chain strategies, managing logistics operations, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance supply chain performance and support patient care while managing vendor relationships and leading a team of supply chain staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Technical or Business-related degree preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of progressive leadership experience required, including at least 1 year in supply chain management or project management role.
  • Prefer 4 or more years of experience in Supply Chain.
  • Strong leadership, facilitation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated business understanding and ability to balance people/organizational decisions with business considerations.
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems effectively and manage multiple high priority deliverables.
  • Proficiency with MS-Office suite and MMIS.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP) preferred.
  • Lean/Six Sigma or similar process improvement program preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead entity level Supply Chain operations structure in alignment with OU Health Supply Chain Operations vision.
  • Serve as a point of contact and liaison to department directors/managers, ensuring communication of contract and process improvement initiatives.
  • Optimize use of Materials Management Information System and other automation tools to streamline operations.
  • Implement system-wide inventory strategy and improve supply chain performance.
  • Assist in the implementation of cost-saving initiatives throughout the entity.
  • Support Supply Chain Operations using strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Develop entity policies and procedures related to inventory requirements.
  • Evaluate and implement delivery systems such as Low Unit of Measure (LUM) and Just in Time (JIT).
  • Direct site Supply Chain staff to ensure collaborative relationships with supported departments and clinicians.
  • Utilize standardized dashboard analytics to measure inventory levels and performance metrics.
  • Implement standardized inventory control and cycle counting strategy.
  • Ensure compliance for Joint Commission Accreditation and other regulatory bodies.
  • Serve as a customer service advocate for staff and respond to customer requests.
  • Implement continuous process improvement strategies such as Six Sigma and Lean.
  • Monitor annual Supply Chain budgets to meet system goals and objectives.
  • Recruit, hire, and set performance expectations for direct reports.
