About the position

Hexcel is currently seeking a Materials Manager for our Pottsville, PA, USA location. The selected individual will be responsible for the production planning, inventory plans, and accuracy, and direct and indirect material planning and replenishment. The Material Manager is responsible for leading and working with the planning group to provide executable production plans and schedules to meet forecast and booked demand while optimizing quality, cost, and equipment capacity. This role involves optimizing the short- and long-term production planning and material replenishment process for maximum utilization of the plant facilities and resources. Under the general guidance of the Supply Chain Director, the Materials Manager develops targets, systems, and procedures for achieving agreed inventory levels for raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods. The position also requires balancing supply and demand in the supply chain in collaboration with other affected Hexcel Plants production planning/scheduling groups and through the SIOP process. If balance cannot be agreed, the constraints are to be escalated with the appropriate senior management for resolution/direction. The Materials Manager will oversee short and long-range planning to balance supply and demand on a 0-24-month time frame, work in conjunction with the manufacturing operation to maximize customer service levels and on-time delivery of customer orders, assist with the inventory control function via cycle counting and physical inventories as needed, collaborate with the Quality function on the customer return process, and assist in contract negotiations for plant services.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for production planning, inventory plans, and accuracy, and direct and indirect material planning and replenishment.
• Lead and work with the planning group to provide executable production plans and schedules to meet forecast and booked demand while optimizing quality, cost, and equipment capacity.
• Optimize the short- and long-term production planning and material replenishment process for maximum utilization of the plant facilities and resources.
• Develop targets, systems, and procedures for achieving agreed inventory levels for raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods under the guidance of the Supply Chain Director.
• Balance supply and demand in the supply chain in collaboration with other affected Hexcel Plants production planning/scheduling groups and through the SIOP process.
• Oversee short and long-range planning to balance supply and demand on a 0-24-month time frame.
• Work in conjunction with the manufacturing operation to maximize customer service levels and on-time delivery of customer orders.
• Assist with the inventory control function via cycle counting and physical inventories as needed.
• Collaborate with the Quality function on the customer return process and assist with supplier quality management.
• Assist in contract negotiations for plant services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in administration, Operations Management, Engineering or related field required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in plant scheduling and supply chain management required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, problem solving, facilitation skills, and leadership required.
• Working knowledge of MS Word, ACCESS, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
• Ability to present to audiences of hourly and salaried employees required.
• Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment requiring high initiative and self-motivation required.

Nice-to-haves

• CPIM or CSCP certification preferred.
• Working knowledge of Power BI, Power Pivot and MRP systems preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
