About the position

The Inventory Management Coordinator will work closely with the Plant Manager and General Manager to enhance customer satisfaction through effective inventory management. This role involves supporting various departments to streamline inventory processes, improve accuracy, and ensure safety while managing costs. The coordinator will analyze existing procedures, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to optimize inventory flow and meet customer demands.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a material resource plan to enhance product flow and optimize order fulfillment.
  • Assist in developing policies, guidelines, and procedures for quality, delivery, and cost control.
  • Analyze and set inventory levels using Supply Chain best practices to meet customer forecasts.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct inventory adjustments to align the system with the actual inventory position.
  • Maintain and distribute daily performance reports for key inventory and delivery management metrics.
  • Coordinate logistics activities with internal/external customers to meet demand requirements.
  • Work with Corporate Logistics Leader to improve cost impact of delivery options for all facilities.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of an electronic or manual kanban system.
  • Interface with customers, suppliers, and manufacturing facilities to align supply with customer demand.
  • Minimize excess and obsolete inventory within the regional channel.
  • Lead the management of the organization's supply base from a quality and delivery perspective.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Quality and Procurement to track supplier performance.

Requirements

  • Strong supervision experience.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Excel and other inventory control/shipping software.
  • Good understanding of Lean Application tools (Kaizen, Kanban, 5S, Visual Manufacturing, etc.).
  • Experience in operations, inventory management, and lean manufacturing processes.
  • Experience operating warehouse equipment and any necessary certifications.
  • Demonstrates excellent problem resolution skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) is a plus.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
