About the position

The Materials Master Planner at Johnson Controls is responsible for managing supplier and operations scheduling, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to support production needs. This role involves collaboration with various departments to optimize efficiencies and improve performance while adhering to budget constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Supplier and Operations scheduling for assigned areas.
  • Interaction with suppliers and operations to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
  • Managing supplier and operations replenishment strategies.
  • Tracking performance and offering continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Generating supplier schedules that optimize efficiencies in production and transportation.
  • Monitoring and reporting on supplier compliance to delivery due dates.
  • Identifying risks to late delivery and handling escalations with suppliers.
  • Coordinating with Manufacturing, Production Schedulers, Quality, and Engineering to ensure timely material availability.
  • Maintaining Replenishment signals for smooth material flow to the Manufacturing floor.
  • Managing daily support of production needs such as expediting material and addressing supply issues.
  • Managing consignment programs for materials and blanket purchasing agreements.
  • Supporting activities to ensure on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and transportation execution.
  • Maintaining effective communication with all departments.
  • Operating within budget to reduce overhead and expenses.
  • Providing constraint information for the S&OP process.
  • Resolving supplier invoicing issues.

Requirements

  • University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Demand Planning / SCM department of a large company.
  • Analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and Internet software.

Nice-to-haves

  • APICS Certification in CPIM
