About the position

The Materials Planner at Pratt & Whitney is responsible for ensuring the delivery assurance of products throughout the value stream. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to meet customer requirements and drive operational success. The planner will lead production meetings, track performance, and support the execution of production plans, making it a critical position in the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the focal point for Business Center's delivery assurance responsibilities throughout the value stream.
  • Interact with management, purchasing, supply chain, and customers to ensure finished product deliveries meet requirements.
  • Create, review, and approve annual spares/engine output and overdue burndown plans with key actions to drive operations team success.
  • Support the operational execution and production meetings.
  • Lead the Build Plan and Daily Production/Constraint Meetings.
  • Support the three-month build plan process and collaborate with key stakeholders including Materials, Operations, Quality, and Engineering.
  • Track daily performance to plan and escalate risks while supporting the creation of mitigation strategies.
  • Release production orders to the shop floor and conduct delivery execution/error audits.
  • Attend necessary tier meetings and assist temporary vendors if needed.
  • Assist Shop Floor Control when necessary and manage the transfer of assets within Pratt & Whitney.

Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience and 5+ years of prior production/manufacturing materials experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and 3+ years' experience.
  • US citizenship required due to government contract.

  • Proficiency in the Materials discipline.
  • Experience utilizing SAP operating system.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Creative troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent leadership, judgment, and professional maturity.

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
