About the position

The Materials Planner/Scheduler II at Progress Rail Services Corp. is responsible for determining the quantity and order date for materials needed to meet the master production schedule. This role initiates the production process and serves as a liaison among various departments including Manufacturing, Warehouse, Quality, Planning, and Engineering to ensure effective communication and project requirement fulfillment.

Responsibilities

  • Determine the quantity and order date for materials needed to meet the master production schedule.
  • Initiate the production process based on material requirements.
  • Act as a liaison between Manufacturing, Warehouse, Quality, Planning, and Engineering departments.
  • Communicate effectively to meet project requirements across all departments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or Associates degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years Production Planning, Warehouse or Scheduling experience in a high volume manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience utilizing SAP, ERP/MRP in production, planning or inventory control roles.
  • Good Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective analytical ability.
  • Proficiency with computer technology applications that support the materials planning process.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Demonstrates initiative and the ability to work effectively within time constraints in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve objectives by working in and with cross-functional and multi-cultural teams.
  • Strong analytical and reasoning abilities; good interpersonal skills; high energy.

Nice-to-haves

  • LEAN Manufacturing experience preferred.
