The Materials Planner at Flex-O-Glass Inc. is responsible for managing raw materials, scheduling production, and ensuring inventory levels are maintained. This entry-level position requires effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders to support the company's operations in a fast-paced environment. The role emphasizes safety, customer satisfaction, quality, and productivity, and is based in the Chicago office with a standard work schedule from Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
- Ensure timely creation of purchase orders and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain raw material availability and monitor inventory levels of raw materials.
- Adjust weekly production schedules based on forecasts and inventory targets.
- Perform cycle counts on raw materials weekly and as needed.
- Coordinate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including production supervisors and suppliers.
- Support cost-out projects and review optimization opportunities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Past experience in buying or scheduling, preferably for a manufacturer
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel
- Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably IQMS
- Math proficiency
