About the position

Thales is seeking a Supply Chain Materials Planner to forecast demand for materials supporting product lines within the Aviation Global Services (AGS) business line. This role serves as the primary liaison among various teams to ensure accurate multi-year forecasts are published regularly, ensuring parts are ordered and available for spares, maintenance, and repair requirements. The planner will also engage in tactical and strategic inventory initiatives and may guide less experienced planners.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure materials operations meet customer, program, and project requirements while complying with Thales QMS, EHS, AS9100, FAA, and U.S. regulations.
  • Collaborate with various teams including Program Management, Engineering, and Quality to maintain accurate inventory plans.
  • Review and implement MRP actions and make inventory/production decisions accordingly.
  • Generate and manage Planned Orders, Purchase Requisitions, and Production Orders.
  • Analyze inventory positions against Engineering Change Orders and demand changes, implementing necessary actions.
  • Support material planning for reliability engineering projects and enforce quality control requirements.
  • Establish material support plans for new programs and projects, producing demand forecasts based on historical data.
  • Participate in annual budget reviews and contract reviews, providing recommendations.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in a related field with 3-5 years of experience, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 7 years of experience in a related field.
  • Experience in Material Planning/Scheduling, Supply Chain, Purchasing, or Inventory/Production Control.
  • Previous experience in the airline or electronics manufacturing industry is preferred.
  • Familiarity with MRP analysis and ERP systems, preferably SAP.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and multitask.
