About the position

The Materials Planner at Stepan Company is responsible for managing the daily activities related to raw materials across multiple plants in North America. This role is crucial for ensuring that manufacturing and customer needs are met through effective inventory management, collaboration with supply chain partners, and continuous improvement of supply chain processes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage the tactical buying and movement of raw materials into Stepan plants.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain partners to optimize inventory and working capital.
• Conduct analysis and recommend improvements within the supply chain.
• Help reduce total landed costs for materials, including transportation costs.
• Ensure alignment of Materials Planning operations with Supply Chain and company goals.
• Utilize materials planning procedures and analytics for timely delivery of materials.
• Meet customer needs while supporting departmental and financial goals.
• Optimize the supply network through effective use of supply chain tools.
• Identify and drive technology improvements in Materials Management.
• Establish standards and manage operations for effective materials control.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1-3 years' experience in chemical operations or supply chain.
• Effective communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
• SAP proficiency is a plus.
• Possess or willing to pursue CPIM certification.
• Bachelor's Degree (preferred in related field).
