About the position

CoorsTek is seeking a detail-oriented Materials Process Operator to contribute to advanced ceramics manufacturing. The role involves operating production machines, maintaining high-quality standards, and ensuring safety and efficiency in the manufacturing process. The operator will work closely with other team members to ensure production continuity and perform in-process quality testing.

Responsibilities

• Follow all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) procedures as required.
• Identify opportunities for safety improvements.
• Perform startups, shutdowns, and product mix changes across standardized production processes with manual and basic automation components.
• Identify technical problems and implement routine or directed solutions.
• Follow documented and scheduled maintenance procedures.
• Follow routine and repeatable work instructions and product mix specifications, including special instructions for ceramic material preparation.
• Learn and apply manufacturing principles and best practices to effectively complete work.
• Work closely with other operators to share information for production continuity between shifts, process steps, or departments.
• Perform in-process quality testing for assigned process area.
• Safely operate powered industrial equipment to move material within the facility.
• Maintain workspace cleanliness and follow appropriate 6S practices.
• Assist in accurately tracking all inventory, supplies, and raw materials.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not necessary.
• A minimum of 1 year manufacturing experience.
• Ability to understand and act on verbal and written instructions.
• Basic math and time-management skills.
• Basic computer skills and comfortable interacting with touchscreen technology.
• Basic mechanical aptitude with hand and power tools.
• Attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work with a variety of people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
• Ability to lift 60 lbs.
• Ability to work from ladders when performing tasks.
• Ability to work in a cold or hot work environment.
• May be exposed to a wet or dusty work environment.
• Confined space and fall protection required for this position.
• LOTOTO required.
• Forklift operation required, experience a plus.
