About the position

The Materials Science Co-op/Intern position at Honda for Summer 2025 offers college students a hands-on, project-based experience in various departments related to materials science and metallurgical engineering. Responsibilities

• Support mass production with failure analysis.
• Support new model groups with new materials/processes qualification and specification testing.
• Prepare samples for metallurgical evaluation - cutting, grinding, and polishing.
• Perform metallurgical testing (metallographic, hardness testing, tensile/compression testing, etc.).
• Summarize test results in report form and present investigation results.
• Collect, organize, and analyze data to develop improvement activity.

Requirements

• General Business Coursework
• Minimum 2.5 Cumulative GPA or higher
• Class status- Sophomore (by credit hour) or above
• Availability to work a minimum of 10 weeks at 40 hours per week
• Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program studying Material Science or Metallurgical Engineering
• Valid U.S. Driver's License
• Ability to secure own transportation to and from work each day.
