About the position

The Materials Specialist position at Duke Energy is responsible for executing day-to-day activities in support of warehouse operations, including inventory control, receiving, transfers, and chemical inventory management. This role ensures the safe movement and handling of required parts and maintenance materials into and out of power generation facilities, with a strong emphasis on maintaining inventory accuracy. The successful candidate will work closely with plant management and staff to prioritize and implement activities related to operations and maintenance within the Power Generation facility.

Responsibilities

  • Execute day-to-day activities in support of warehouse operations.
  • Manage inventory control, including physical and chemical inventory processes.
  • Ensure the safe movement and handling of parts and maintenance materials.
  • Establish and adhere to work priorities for material handling processes.
  • Maintain excellent communication with supply chain site procurement and operations.

Requirements

  • High School/GED
  • Knowledge of warehouse activities
  • Inventory Management Skills
  • Self-motivated with good communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing conditions
  • Good organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • Some generation plant experience and/or warehousing experience
  • Ability to identify problems and work with teammates to resolve them.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with MAXIMO and EMAX applications
  • Ability to anticipate and respond effectively to customer requests.
