About the position

The Materials Team Lead is responsible for overseeing general warehouse operations, including the loading and unloading of trucks, movement of materials within the warehouse, and ensuring timely and accurate material flow to production. This role involves maintaining inventory levels, preparing orders for shipment, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment to move inventory and materials.
  • Inspect incoming inventory and equipment for quality before storing or rerouting.
  • Identify damaged, lost, or missing merchandise and notify the supervisor immediately.
  • Process inventory control records and cycle counts using RF Scanners or ERP system (Epicor).
  • Transport finished products and materials to the shipping area and prepare for shipment.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping storage areas and workstations neat.
  • Conduct pre-trip inspections of power vehicles to ensure they are in proper working order.
  • Lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds of materials and learn team lifts for heavier items.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and use personal protective equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to apply math (fractions, ratios, measurements) and read instruction manuals/diagrams.
  • Demonstrated experience safely operating cranes, lift trucks, and other warehouse equipment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to obtain Lift Truck certification by completing the on-site Training Program.

Nice-to-haves

  • Comfort with technology including MS Office, Excel, Outlook, and the ability to learn Epicor ERP system.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English.
  • Prior experience using Lean manufacturing and/or ISO9001 methodologies.
